What are the best cities/communities to live in North Carolina? And Why?

Question by Emily: What are the best cities/communities to live in North Carolina? And Why?
We are trying to decide if we want to move to AZ or NC – I think i’m leaning more towards NC. What are some good communities/cities to live in there? Why? Do you recommend living more towards the coast or more inland? My fiance wants to be somewhere he can ride his motorcycle year round. I want somewhere warm most of the year, but I am not sure if I can handle the heat of AZ. So, good cities in North Carolina would be great if you could share!

Chapel Hill is considered one of the best cities in the country. I does get cold in the winter, but nothing like the North.
It is not too large, but is big enough to have the services you need, it is friendly and a college town.

Why do Russians consider big cities a status symbol?

Question by Squeaky P: Why do Russians consider big cities a status symbol?
It seems that Russians consider themselves superior or a higher status if the city they live in is bigger than another. I am curious if anyone here knows why it matters so much to people there. I understand the difference of a small village compared to Moscow, but I mean more like if one place is 400,000 people they look down on people from a nearby town of 40,000.

This is the opposite of most places I’ve been in the world.

This is common to most countries – some people think this of any of their cities.

In the uk, it is London.
In America it is New York (the Big Apple)
In Russia it is Moscow.

I suppose it is to be expected really, we all need something to be proud of, in our countries. And why not?

Find out who voted against them. Target these people, by writing letters.

Otherwise, you might be able to overrule it with a public petition or law. You’d need to collect signatures and whatnot.

However, generally, just encourage your friends to vote against re-electing whoever wrote the law. That’s how most laws are overturned.

I’ve always had a good experience at Kane’s and the prices are not overinflated. Worst case scenario go to Aaron’s rental, all you need are references- go to a 3 or 6 month same as cash sale and pay it off before the interest kicks in (extremely high, you wind up paying at least 3 times the cost of the item).

Question by Mo: I’m moving to for work to Woodland, CA. What is the best areas to live nearby within 40mi?
I’m looking for a fun city to live that is near Woodland. Well developed, great shopping and restaurants, and potentially a younger population? Late 20s? I’m browsing Sacramento right now, is that the best spot?

Sacramento is the only large city nearby, and it will have the best shopping in the area.

Davis is a college town with a young populations. Some good restaurants there. Most of the nightlife scene will be younger than yourself.
